BEWARE OF THESE EMAILS


Fraudsters have taken advantage of the upcoming National Population and Housing census and  doping vulnerable citizens from their earned money.
They are using a fake email address to send messages to applicants to pay some amount of money for them to correct their information of which all are false.

The Ghana Statistical service has advised the general public to beware of these hungry fraudsters who pose as agents for the service in quest of extorting money from individuals who applied to take part of the 2020 Population and Housing census

Professor Samuel Annim made these statement when he was addressing the general public about the proceedings of the Ghana Statistical Service on pending National Population and Housing Census 2020. In his statement he said
"June 28, as the census night have been postponed...... we need to put together over 75, 000 enumerators and supervisors and train them".... he stated
 A typical example of such messages spotted by Global Newz from unofficial email address(ghanastatisticss@gmail.com) reads:


"Hello, you're yet to be selected to take part in the oncoming 2020 Population and Housing Census (PHC) in Ghana but your informations are not accurate/ correct over here so kindly Contact or WhatsApp MR.AGBENUVOR on (0543719166) for the interview code and have your form updated. Everyone have to pay fifty cedis(50gh) for getting his/her new code .According to the service it is currently reviewing the applications which they have received after which the GSS will contact the shortlisted applicants via text message or an email for an interview at a district of their choice. The Ghana Statistical Service (GSS) has set Sunday , June 28 , for the commencement of the Ghana Statistical Service (GSS) Population And Housing Census (PHC) 2020. However the newly released schedule is as follows:

1. Household listing: 15th June 2020 to 28th June 2020 
2. Census Night: Sunday 28th June 2020. 
3. Enumeration: Monday 29th June to Sunday 12th July 2020

Applicants are entreated to disregard this message and treated it as fake and  never to pay any amount to any individual as far as this census is concerned
